THE Alexandra Fire Brigade Auxiliary ran their second high tee on the afternoon of Sunday, October 11. The event was extremely well attended and tickets sold out very early. The previous year, the event was run at the Fire station. It was a great success however the organizers realized that the location was far too small. As a result, the event was held this year at the Alexandra Shire Hall. The auxiliary would like to thank Murrindindi Shire for the opportunity to use the hall and for the grant that they were given towards covering the costs of running the event. They were also supported by a large number of businesses, both local and from further afield. President of the Auxiliary, Paula Inness, said at the event, “People have been most generous to our cause. “We were extremely lucky that due to exhaustive efforts, our town of Alexandra was saved by our firefighters and the Longwood Fire on January 9 was stopped here after much devastation within our shire. “This is the main reason for all of us here today to reflect not only on our losses but to now enjoy each other’s company.” In addition to door prizes and other activities, the attendees were entertained by Steve Paix on the piano and saxophone. The main drawcard was of course the food. There was plenty of it, and all reports indicate that it was fabulous.
