THE charity event, Operation Christmas Child, is about packing shoeboxes of gifts for children to be sent to low-income areas around the world. Around 15 people took part in the Alexandra packing day at Oasis Church on Thursday 15 October, with all in a cheerful mood. The gifts included toys, clothes, writing pads and pencils, and personal care items such as toothbrushes, all being age-appropriate. The shoeboxes will now be sent far and wide to spread Christmas cheer from Alexandra around the world.
