REDDROPS supermarkets were impacted by a ransomware attack in September. Reddrops operates 27 supermarkets under brands including FoodWorks and Go to Grocer, and have more than 1300 staff members. Owners Michael and Tina Reddrop were contacted for comment on the incident. They provided the following statement. Tina stated, "This was a distressing event for our business, but our IT consultant identified the attack quickly and acted straight away to stop it. “We responded prudently and responsibly. “We immediately engaged a specialist cyber security firm, followed all government reporting requirements, and acted on the advice of both government and our security experts at every step. “Based on the findings of that investigation, we don't believe any customer, employee or supplier information was compromised. “The impact was confined to our own internal systems, which we are now rebuilding. “If at any point we find that anyone's personal information has been affected, we will contact them directly and meet our obligations under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme."
