Planned burns in Flowerdale and Jamieson (64)

FOREST Fire Management have provided a summary of planned burns to be undertaken within Hume Region for today, Friday, March 11, subject to suitable weather conditions.

Two burns will be undertaken in Murrindindi District today.

There will be a 121 hectare fuel reduction burn 6km west of Flowerdale township, along Flowerdale Road. Day one ignition will cover 101 hectares. On day two, the remaining 20 hectares of the 121 hectares will be ignited.

There will also be a 299 hectare fuel reduction burn at Flowerdale on Digger Gully Rd, 7Km west of Flowerdale township. Day one ignition will be 99 hectares. On day two, the remaining 200 hectares of the 299 hectares will be ignited.

In the Goulburn District, a 173 hectare fuel reduction burn will take place at Jamieson North and Stony Creek, 2.3 km north east of Jamieson township. The day one ignition will be 100 hectares, of 173 hectares. On day two, the remaining 73 hectares of 173 hectares will be ignited.
