ON Tuesday, February 11 Alexandra District Health (ADH) hosted a high tea to celebrate 113 years of combined services of staff members Dianne Goschnick, Dee Murphy, and Nola Evans.
The presentations included a speech from ADH’S Chief Executive Officer Jane Poxon, and hampers given to Dianne, Dee, and Nola.
Dianne read some poetry about her fellow retired team members, and had some kind words from Nurse Unit Manager Heather Shaw.
DEE Murphy has been at Alexandra District Health (ADH) since 2001. She said, “I had many different jobs before I became a ward clerk. Some jobs in Australia included the ANZ Bank, Franklin Mint, Elsternwick Magistrates Court and the Australian Tax Office.
“In London I worked for British Gas, as a nanny, a housekeeper, a carer, a cook, sold yacht ropes at the South Hampton Boat Show, worked as a volunteer on a kibbutz in Israel and worked in fish factories in Iceland for four and a half years.

FROM humble beginnings to an extremely rewarding career in nursing spanning over five decades, Dianne Goschnick celebrated a milestone not known by many.
Dianne Goschnick started in 1969/1970 as a nurse in training after she successfully completed preliminary training at the Melbourne Nursing School in South Yarra.
She then returned to Alexandra District Hospital to work.

NOLA Evans has now wound up her nursing career after an amazing 56 years in the field.
Nola started her training in 1968 as a mothercraft nurse at St Gabriel’s Babies Home in Balwyn. It was an Anglican home for babies and children waiting for adoption and foster care.
There is a complete change now as mothers are now able keep their babies if they’re unmarried, but there were other reasons children were adopted too.
