GUITARISTS across Murrindindi Shire and surrounds gathered over several workshops from Friday, August 22 to Sunday, August 24 in Yea and Alexandra to kick off rehearsals for the High Voltage concert.

Local producer, Cynthia Lim said, “There were 19 attendees for the first weekend of workshops and more guitarists will be joining in for the following weekend including students from local high schools.

We’re thrilled to have attendees ranging in ages from 14 to 80 years old.”

Further workshops will be held on August 30 and 31 and September 4 and 5 to get all the guitarists ready to perform for the final show. Anyone considering taking part is welcome to register and get involved.

“It is not too late to learn the show stopper songs and I’m happy to discuss the process with anyone interested,” Ms Lim said. “The skills of the guitarists that attended the first weekend ranged from those who play actively in bands, those who pick up a guitar every now and then to those who haven’t played anything for decades. All are invited to participate.”

Internationally acclaimed artist and musician, Joseph O’Farrell (JOF) and guitar educator Chris Green spent the weekend in the region helping the guitarists shape their musical skills. Joining the performance will be students from Dindi Dance and other local performers will also…
