NINETY-year-old Barry Moore shows that age is no barrier to being involved at the Yea Bowls Club.

Barry recently celebrated his 90th birthday with members of the Yea Bowls Club and together with Jeff Green and Neil Rieschieck were the winners of the three bowl triples on the day.

During the lunch break Barry was presented with a beautiful birthday cake and a loud rendition of the song followed.

Barry was born in Yea in 1935, at the old Yea Hospital and went on to become a beef and sheep farmer and was very involved in a variety of sports over the years.

Barry has played bowls for about 40 years, and his sons Russell and Steven also played bowls in Yea. Steven is currently playing Premier League Bowls in Melbourne.

Barry has had a successful sporting career playing in multiple cricket premierships for Boundary Creek, Homewood, and Yea.
Barry was a very good all-rounder at cricket. A batter and medium pace bowler [with best figures of six for 19 in a Yea semi-final], he also did some wicket keeping when required.
