TRAVELLING to Kings Park in Seymour on Sunday the Alexandra Football Netball Club (AFNC) under 13 Alexandra Black were taking on St Marys Green, and the under 14 footballers were up against Seymour Lions who the team have always had close battles with during the home and away season.
The under 10 footballers and under 11 netball development teams took part in a lightning premiership competition that saw both teams playing off in the final of the day and coming second overall.
Taking on the ladder leaders in the Grand Final was never going to be easy, but the under 14 Rebels rose to the challenge with a flying start.
Kicking a couple of quick goals, they went into quarter time with a five-point lead.
Full of momentum, the Rebels carried their energy into the second quarter.
Dominating the play, they added another two goals while holding Seymour to just one. At the main break, the Rebels were in front 25 to 14 and confidence was high.

Playing in extremely wet and slippery conditions wasn’t going to dampen the spirits or enthusiasm of AFNC’s under 13 netballers, who were determined to give it their all in the Grand Final.
Winning the toss and taking the first centre pass, the girls were eager to get the game underway.
