ALEXANDRA Rotary is providing vouchers for local suppliers to anyone impacted by the fire. They are encouraged to drop in to the Alexandra Community Shed / Eildon and District Woodworkers Guild (also known as the Woodies) to pick some up.
They are located in the meeting space rather than the workshop area, with plenty of signage to let people know where to find them. It’s a private space.

Tom Farrell from Alexandra Rotary explained, “We simply ask the people whether they’ve been adversely affected by the fires and in need, or if there is someone that they know and that person can then take it to them. Or they can buy the stuff (using the vouchers) and take it to the person directly.”

The vouchers are either two $50 vouchers or one $100 voucher, and “Sometimes it can be varied,” Tom said, adding that the vouchers can be used like a gift card.

Endeavour Petrol Station have separate vouchers available through Rotary, and have provided additional funds to the pool.

Coffee shops have been given money as well, to give food and drinks to people who have been impacted, or to emergency personnel.

Simpsons Fuel have also had funds made available by Rotary to give out free fuel when needed.

At the Woodies meeting space, there are also a variety of goods which have been donated, including new goods from JB’s Wear.

They plan to run this from Monday to Friday 9am to 3pm and on Saturday morning 9am to noon.

Essential list for drop offs include fuel cards, FoodWorks cards, new or almost new clothing, rakes and shovels, belts, new or almost new work gloves, and jerry cans.

Please hold onto items that will be needed once homes are being rebuilt.

Rotary needs financial support to help our community. Their bank account details are: Rotary Club of Alexandra, National Australia Bank-Alexandra, BSB 083 503, Account number 60663 0744.
