ON the VicEmergency map, the January firegrounds are still showing up even though it’s now June.

Our newspaper was told back in April, “The Impact Areas map layer displayed on VicEmergency is informed by live data provided by the emergency service agencies.

The areas affected by the January 2026 Victorian bushfires are currently shown as fire grounds on the VicEmergency map, as they have already been burnt through.
