Alexandra Golf Club up early to beat high temperatures

SOMETHING quite amazing happened last Tuesday. Due to the forecast of extremely high temperatures, Brad dragged himself out of bed an hour earlier than usual, and seven other brave souls joined him for an 8am hitoff.

John Greatorex returned the best score of the day, his 39 points taking him three clear of the nearest pursuers. Bill Wind came in second on 36, and 36 was also Russell Purcell’s score, putting him in third.

Russell also took nearest the pin on seven, and Gretto claimed 17. Eighteen went begging. Both Leo Dynes and Brad got a voucher in the rundown.

There were not enough starters for a ladies’ competition last Wednesday, and, as Saturday saw the Marysville round of the FoodWorks Murrindindi Masters, that is all she wrote for last…
