Alexandra Opportunity Shop supports local community groups

THE Alexandra Opportunity Shop focuses on supporting aged care, particularly Kellock Lodge but also donates to several other community groups. The most recent round of donations was in response to requests from four groups. Each of these groups is run by volunteers.

The First Alexandra Scouts Group requested support to assist with the purchase of materials for camps and activities. Their club activities range from craft projects, woodwork, cooking and gardening to name a few. The Alexandra Opp Shop Board was pleased to provide $5000. The board also acknowledges the dedication of the scouts volunteers who give their time to the youth of this community.

UGFM requested funding for an air conditioner for the new Outside Broadcast Van which is currently under construction. The board recognises UGFM’s contribution to the community through its local news and information across the shire, along with being a local state emergency broadcaster. It also congratulates the many volunteers who have provided these services for the past 31 years.
