IT has been a dynamic and action-packed start to the year for our students, with outstanding achievements across a wide range of sports both in and out of school. From local interleague matches to interstate and national championships, Alexandra Secondary College (ASC) athletes have proven their dedication, skill, and passion for sport.

Netball interleague success, where ASC netballers had a fantastic showing in the interleague competitions.

Phoebe Kidd, Cassie Kidd and Ella Palmer showcased their talent in the under 15s division, while Zoe Coller, Tilly Miljkovic and Koa Parker made a strong impression in the under 13s. These players continue to develop their skills and demonstrate leadership and teamwork on and off the court.

Equestrian endeavours. Ash Collett has been galloping across the state, representing ASC at several major equestrian events including the Albury International EA Horse Trials, Geelong EA Horse Trials, Tooradin EA Horse Trials, and the Benalla Pony Club Horse Trials. Her commitment to the sport is admirable, as she continues to compete at a high level across multiple venues.

Triathlon talent on a national stage, with Koa Parker achieving a phenomenal milestone, making the SSV Victorian Junior 13 to 14 Years Triathlon team. She competed in the School Sports Australia competition held in Rockingham, Western Australia, proudly representing Victoria. Additionally, Koa played in the Goulburn Murray Representative Netball Team alongside two other ASC girls, further highlighting her all-around athleticism.

Koa also successfully represented ASC at the State School Victoria Swimming meet earlier in May. This is an unbelievable achievement as only the top swimmer from the Hume competition is selected. There were 29 different schools that participated in the Hume Swimming competition. Koa had a brilliant day achieving outstanding results: third in breaststroke, second in butterfly and fourth in freestyle.

Volleyball champions. Danielle Nadj has reached impressive heights in volleyball, earning a spot on the Volleyball Victoria U19 team that will compete at the Australian Junior National Championships in South Australia this July. She also plays in the State League Premier Women’s Division One for the Maroondah Cobras in the Victorian Volleyball League, making her one of the school’s top athletes.
