Big show start to the season at Alexandra Speedway

ALEXANDRA Speedway starts its season this Saturday evening with a huge show on offer for the entertainment of motorsport fans and family with not one, not two, not three, but four visiting series events that includes the Late Models, Street Stocks, Junior Sedans and Sports Sedans.

Along with those classes will be the Standard Saloons, this means there will be around 90 cars in action across the program.

Matt Nelson and Linken Patterson lead Alexandra entrants in the Street Stocks state series event with Tim Hutchinson who was a winner at Wangaratta earlier this season also in the traditional Commodore versus Falcon field.

Local heroes Nelson and Patterson will also have to contend with Morris Ahearn a perennial front runner, veteran Leigh Gooding who was a winner at Avalon last season and Ricky Cornwall who learnt his racing craft at Alexandra also.

Sports Sedans has always been dominated by Alexandra Speedway drivers for as long as it can be remembered in this class that allows any engine to any make and model car and see’s Holden engines in Ford’s and the other way around.

The class is booming with drivers from Bendigo, Hamilton, Geelong, Ballarat, Gippsland, the Malee and the Northeast of Victoria all amongst those in the class now. Brendan and Damien Miller lead local hopes this weekend that includes…..
