Congratulations to the Alexandra Secondary College duxes

ALEXANDRA Secondary College was delighted to congratulate the school duxes for 2025. They were Emelia Weeks and Danielle Nadj.

Emelia Weeks

Emelia Weeks has only recently returned from 10 days volunteering and sightseeing in Samoa with a Christian organisation.

They visited the Youth With a Mission (YWAM) base and the Victim Support Group while she was there, spending time with people and handing out some Australian gifts.

She was in Samoa when she found out her school results. She was looking out over the beach when she accessed her results and was delighted with the outcome. She said, “I was quite fortunate and that was a pretty great day for me.” She scored a 95.05.

Danielle Nadj

Danielle Nadj woke up at 7am on the dot on the day that the results were released. “I snuck out of bed quietly so no one would hear,” she said. “And I checked and I filmed a little reaction video.

My face, I was so excited when I saw it. And then I went outside and told my family and cried.” Her family were very excited and very proud of her 92.75.

George and Anne Nadj are both teachers at Alexandra Secondary College, and both departed at the end of the school year.

Asked whether having parents as teachers at the school put extra pressure on, she said, “Oh, no, they’re always very supportive. They never pressured me to do anything I didn’t want to.”

She said of her schooling journey, “I absolutely love school. Since year seven, I’ve always been excited to come. The teachers have been so supportive, like Millie (Emilia) said. I want to…
