THE Victorian Container Deposit Scheme launched on November 1, 2023, and in the seven months since, 1,021,374 containers have been deposited within Murrindindi Shire and over $102,137.40 has been returned to the local community.

The following data was extracted on May 31.

The Alexandra Football Netball Club returned over 89,000 containers and received close to $9000 for the club.

135,083 containers were deposited at the Kinglake Pub and Pantry and $13,508.30 was returned to the community.

139,060 containers were deposited at Yea Amble Inn and $13,906 was returned to the community.

6556 containers were deposited at Pheasant Creek General Store and $655.60 was returned to the community.

Last but certainly not least, 740,675 containers were deposited at Nanny Jan’s Emporium in Eildon, raising $74,067.50 for the community.
