Daniel Kriss crowned Victorian Squash Champion

DANIEL Kriss, local business owner of Country Tech in Alexandra, recently competed in two state squash championships and claimed victory in both.

The first competition was held in Geelong at the Leisuretime Squash Centre from July 10 to 13 and saw players from all over Victoria attend.

Having reached the grand final, Daniel was down two games to zero, but managed to turn the match around and overcome his opponent three games to two and win the title.

The following weekend, July 16 to 20, saw the Victorian Open PSA Squash Competition held at Mulgrave Country Club. This particular championship is the most significant on the state calendar and showcases the best squash players in the state.

Daniel comfortably made it through to the semi-finals but faced a great challenger at this point. After a gruelling five set match, Daniel won the semi-final by two points.
