Election day sausage sizzles

HAVING a democracy sausage at your local polling booth is something that many people look forward to, in fact, some people look forward to it more than actually voting.

The list below outlines the treats on offer at polling booths around Murrindindi Shire on election day, Saturday, May 21. They are listed in alphabetical order. The sausage sizzles may not run for the entire day, so get in quick.

Alexandra Secondary College will be holding a sausage sizzle, run by the Parents and Friends Association. Sausages will be just $2 each.

Sadly there will be no sausage sizzle this year at the Eildon Community Centre.

There will however be a sausage sizzle and cake stall at Flowerdale Primary School this year, raising funds for the school

There will also be a sausage sizzle at the Glenburn Hall this year, run by the Glenburn Hall and Progress Association.

There will be no sausage sizzle occurring at the Kinglake CFA Shed this year, and unfortunately the sausage sizzle status of the Kinglake West Mechanics Institute Hall is unknown.

Marysville Primary School will be holding a sausage sizzle, raising funds for the school.

There will be no sausage sizzle at the Narbethong Hall.

Taggerty Hall has gone upmarket, with gourmet and goat sausages available.

Toolangi’s CJ Dennis Memorial Hall will have a sausage sizzle, as well as something for vegetarians.

It’s unknown whether the Thornton Hall will be having a sausage sizzle on polling day.

Yarck Hall will be holding a sausage sizzle, and the Yarck Market is on as well. The funds from the sausage sizzle will be used on the maintenance of the Yarck Hall, particularly the outside painting.

Yea Primary School will have a sausage sizzle and a cake stall, as well as selling tickets for a wood raffle. All of the funds raised will go towards the school.
