WORK got underway last week on the long overdue, and much anticipated, rebuild of the sixth green at Alexandra Golf Club. As the new green will not be ready for play for some time, a temporary green will be in play until further notice, which makes the infamous sixth a very different animal, at least for a while.

Last Tuesday dawned fine and clear, and, as the temperature increases, so do the numbers. Thirteen members turned out for the regular stableford round last week, and were joined by a visitor, Kane Berkley.

Greg Millard was the winner with 39 points, with Steve Darmody in second with 37, and Graeme Emmerson third with 35. Dan Burns claimed the nearest the pin on seven, and 17 fell to Russell Haack while 18 went begging. Rundown vouchers went to Leo Dynes, Brad Newton and John Greatorex.

Third, with 29, was Deb Richardson.

Deb also took off nearest the pin on two, with Sue taking the fifth, and 18 going to Helen Findlay.
