JAN Fallon, President of Friends of Kellock Inc, gifted a donation of close to $30,000 to Kellock Lodge, on behalf of the organisation, to purchase a Heat on Demand system.

Heat on Demand heats a thermal base plate in less than 12 seconds and maintains the temperature of the food at or above 60C for 60 minutes.

The benefits of Heat on Demand system are improved food quality and safety, increased energy efficiency, faster service and greater control over heating processes.

Kellock Lodge trialled the Heat on Demand system for two weeks to obtain resident, family and staff feedback and the trial was a resounding success with comments like, “My meal is so much hotter for longer,” “Don’t get rid of this, it’s wonderful,” and “This is a great change as it keeps the food hot and more enjoyable to eat.”

Kellock Lodge also sought feedback from other aged care organisations who had installed the Heat on Demand system who very much encouraged Kellock to implement the system.

Kellock CEO Tania Hunter stated that warm food enhances the dining experience in aged care…
