THE team behind Giro Della Donna released a statement last month stating, “It is with great sadness that, after careful consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision that we’re unable to proceed with this year’s edition of the Giro Della Donna.

While we’ve been working tirelessly to make this year a success, a number of external factors including rising supplier and delivery costs have made it challenging to stage the event to the standard we believe it deserves.

This is not a decision we’ve taken lightly, and we understand it will come as disappointing news.

“Over the years, we’ve been proud to introduce thousands of riders to this remarkable region, to its climbs, descents, towns, and people. We continue to believe the Giro Della Donna showcases one of the most beautiful and rewarding cycling loops in the country, and that belief remains unchanged.

“We’re deeply grateful for the enthusiasm shown by the cycling community and by everyone who had planned to join us this November.

The Giro Della Donna has always been about celebrating the beauty of the ride and the people who make it possible, and that spirit will continue to guide us in the future.”

Nathan Lorkin, director of Locale which present Giro Della Donna, was asked to provide further information about the decision.

He stated that the cost of keeping everyone safe on bitumen roads has skyrocketed, estimating that the costs for traffic management have increased around 30 per cent compared to 2024. He also noted the price increases for medical services and other….
