Alexandra Red defeated by Yea

IT was a beautiful day in Alexandra for the first match of the 2024 season.

The Yea under 15 netballers were excited to get back on the court with three new additions named in the playing group, Jemma, Lily and Hannah.

The Yea Tigers came out strong in the first quarter scoring three unanswered goals in the beginning. Sophie and Marley displayed remarkable accuracy with their shooting.

At the end of the first quarter the Tigers had displayed some of the skills that won them the premiership in 2023. First quarter scores five to 10.

Some minor changes were made heading into the second quarter.

Flynn moved into centre and showed his capacity to move from one end of the court to the other with speed.

Sienna continued to be consistent in goal defence and with the assistance of Micayla in keeper, they kept Alexandra Rebels Red to one goal in this term.

Scores at the half time break were six to 15.

In the third quarter Yea was able to employ the new strategy of rolling substitution for a seamless changeover of Marley and Sophie in shooting.
