Lots of tournaments for Alexandra golfers

THE Alexandra Golf Club golfers have been busy with lots of tournaments at this time of the year as well as the pennant season.

After last week’s pennant win for the men’s scratch team it is exciting that this week the ladies’ team had a three to two win against Kilmore.

And stop press, wonderful news, the men’s scratch team division one won this year’s finals.

The scores were tight last Tuesday. The winner was Nigel Waterhouse with (17) 36 points on a countback from the runner up, Frank Devries (26) with 36 points.

Next place went to Greg Millard with (17) 35 points. Nearest the pin on the seventh went to Frank Devries and the 18th to Dave Silverman.

Ball run down: Dave Silverman and Bruce Colville.

Last Wednesday it was stroke, Monthly Medal and count your putts.

No medal winner as there was a countback for the two top scores and a play-off required.

The winner was Sue Greatorex 98 (25) 73 and the runner up Barb Doyle 89 (16) 73.

Barb Doyle had the fewest putts with 29.

Donna Meggitt won the nine-hole with 33.5.

Nearest the pin on the fifth went to Barb Doyle and on the 12thand the 18th went to Donna Meggitt.

Next Wednesday, May 15th, is stableford.
