MERTON Cricket Club hosted the Beechworth Wanderers on a fast outfield being the first game at the Merton Cricket Ground (MCG) since the fires of January.
Merton won the toss and batted making 8/204 James Benton again top scoring for his side making 50.
He combined with Jai Lerch-McKinnon 46 in a 73 run third wicket partnership setting up a big total for the Merton side.
