Murrindindi Little Athletes shine at regional championships

MURRINDINDI’S young athletes did their community proud over the weekend, putting in a stellar performance at the Regional Track and Field Championships in Albury.

Despite cool and windy conditions, they warmed up quickly, both literally and figuratively, to bring home an impressive nine medals from the event.

Competing against top athletes from the Northern Country Region, the Murrindindi team made the most of the fantastic facilities and showcased incredible talent, determination, and sportsmanship.

The club offers a huge congratulations to the medal winners: Charlotte Boulton, Levi Campbell, Chase Hilder, Clay Hilder, Zoe Coller, and Declan Baker. An outstanding achievement.

Beyond the medals, almost every Murrindindi athlete achieved a personal best, which is the true essence of Little Athletics; striving for improvement and having fun along the way.

Notable performances and personal bests came from: Maverick Clacy in the 800 metres; Zoe Aldrick in the 100 metres, 400 metres, 80 metre hurdles, and long jump; Ryder in the 1500 metres and 800 metres; Zoe Coller in the 1500 metres, 200 metres and long jump; Ethan Boulton in discus and javelin; Declan Baker in 200 metre hurdles; Levi Campbell in 100 metres, 200 metres, 400 metres, long jump and triple jump; Declan Armstrong in 100 metres, 200 metres, high jump and long jump; Chase Hilder in 1500 metres, 200 metre hurdles and 90 metre hurdles; Clay Hilder in the 1500 metre race walk.
