THE Australian Department of Health has provided updated data regarding the vaccination rates by local government area.

The data is based on the Medicare address of the vaccine recipient, and relates to the data as at September 13.

The new data was released after the current edition of the newspaper went to print.

The following data compares Murrindindi Shire with surrounding areas.

  • MURRINDINDI: First dose 69.2%, second dose 44.1%. Population aged 15 and over = 12,242
  • MANSFIELD: First dose 78.9%, second dose 44.1%. Population aged 15 and over = 7567
  • ALPINE: First dose 79.0%, second dose 50.9%. Population aged 15 and over = 10,732
  • YARRA RANGES: First dose 65.7%, second dose 40.0%. Population aged 15 and over = 129,169
  • NILLUMBIK: First dose 76.7%, second dose 50.7%. Population aged 15 and over = 52,476
  • STRATHBOGIE: First dose 76.7%, second dose 50.8%. Population aged 15 and over = 9174
  • MITCHELL: First dose 64.2%, second dose 39.7%. Population aged 15 and over = 36,387
