Probus reflects on a great year

PROBUS members were startled to find themselves serenaded into the RSL Hall for their annual meeting last Thursday. Past president Gary Tuck had arranged for the Mitchell Shire Band to welcome everyone and give a short concert of old favourites before joining members for a delicious morning tea.

The band members were presented with a generous donation from the Yea Probus Club before they departed back to Mitchell Shire, and members settled down to the regular March meeting and the annual general meeting.

The election of office bearers was made very easy as president John Handsaker, secretary Jan Hentschell and treasurer Ron Quick all agreed to stay in office for another year.

The club has had a very successful year with a variety of great speakers, monthly coffee mornings, luncheons, outings and celebrations with the highlight being the annual week away, travelling to Bright and over the top of Mount Hotham to Lakes Entrance.
