Reserves and seniors are the Rebels’ big winners

THE Alexandra Football Netball Club had one of its greatest weekends recording a 23 point win in the qualifying final against Seville in the reserves and a comeback from a 39 points margin in the seniors to a four-point win in the elimination final against Belgrave.

Reserves

Alexandra 10.7-67 defeated Seville 6.8-44

THE third placed Rebels travelled to Yarra Glen to play second placed Seville in the qualifying final.
After kicking the opening two goals to Bart Wallace and Jake Keath it was a hard goal for goal slog with the Rebels two points up at three quarter time.

Seniors

Alexandra 11.9-75 defeated Belgrave 10.11-71

THE seniors travelled to Healesville on Sunday playing Belgrave in the Elimination Final.

Welcoming back league leading goal kicker Will Stewart and key players Josh Edwards and Harry Prendergast increased the chances of reversing….

Belgrave 6-2-39 to Alexandra 0-1-1.

The second quarter saw the Rebels halt the first quarter carnage kicking 2.3 holding Belgrave to 0.1 going into the large break still 24 points down.

The boys came out a completely different team to the first half with their intensity at the ball a feature resulting in a six-goal quarter to….

Under 18

Alexandra 1.1-7 defeated by Yarra Glen 15.10-100

CONGRATULATIONS to Coach Sam Kidd and his team of helpers on a fantastic season with Alexandra under 18 footballers.

While the boys didn’t come away with the win in Sunday’s elimination final, it has been fantastic to see the club fielding an under 18s side again.

The team has been a prominent fixture around the club this year, bringing great energy and enthusiasm.
