Rya Roberts: karting on track

LOCAL Yea High School student Rya Roberts is on track for his first Nationals start next weekend at round two of the Australian Karting Championships at Eastern Lions Kart Club in Puckapunyal.

With over 400 entries heading to the track, Rya will be amongst the 77 elite drivers competing in the KA3 Junior class from Thursday, April 18 onwards.

Coming off the back of a successful weekend at round two of the Golden Power series in Gippsland last week with a win in heat one and two, Rya will be pushing on track for a strong result.

“With this being my home club I’ve managed to have a decent amount of track time this year to work hard on my racing,” Rya said.

“I’ve also been working hard on my fitness, getting a good push from Jess and the team at Progression Physiotherapy and Performance, be it in their Condition classes or the local run club.”

Rya’s 2024 program will see him at various state rounds as well as the Golden Power Series that runs over five events throughout Victoria.
