Telstra were contacted about the Telstra outage on Monday, November 22.
Telstra Regional General Manager Jenny Gray said, “We are upgrading our mobile base station at Alexandra to deliver more capacity and faster data speeds to the town and other nearby communities. This will allow faster downloads as well as better streaming, video calls, gaming and remote working.
“Mobile services were disrupted yesterday (Monday) while some prep work was undertaken and we’re sorry if this messed with anyone’s day.
“The mobile base station will also need to be turned off for a few days while further work is undertaken. This will occur between 06 – 10 December and for up to eight hours each day.
“Residents can continue to make and take calls with their mobile at home or work by using their nbn connection to access Wi-Fi calling. This is a free setting on most popular mobile phones and allows your mobile to call using a Wi-Fi network.
“We also encourage business owners talk to their bank about connecting their EFTPOS terminals to their nbn or Wi-Fi connection to prevent delays in processing transactions.”
Last week the juniors went out to see the recent control burns in Marysville.
