THE Australian Summer of Golf will welcome back the jewel in the tournament calendar this year, with the Cathedral Invitational returning in December.

Held immediately after the Australian Open, the Cathedral Golf Club & Lodge will once again host the invitation only event on December 9 and 10, where day two is open to the public, featuring many of Australia’s top male and female golfers and showcasing some of the world’s leading international talent.

Several leading and emerging Australian golfing names have already committed to participate in the 2025 Cathedral Invitational, including reigning champ Adam Scott, Marc Leishman, Geoff Ogilvy and former major winner Ian Baker-Finch who will make his return to professional golf in Australia.

The unique 36-hole format challenges players to compete for the title across two days, with the second day the sole chance year round where the public can access the prestigious golf course. Nearly 3000 people attended day two of the 2023 event.

Cathedral Invitational Chairman, David Evans said, “It’s extremely exciting to have the Cathedral Invitational locked in to return in December 2025. Event preparations are well underway, and we remain determined for this event to become a staple in the Australian golf calendar.

“The event provides the opportunity for Australian and Victorian golf fans to get up close and personal with the big names that will take part in the Invitational; it’s also the only day for the entire year that the general public can access the course.

“I can’t wait for the event to return this year and to see what unfolds.”
