LAST Saturday the men played the third round of the Par Shield. The daily winner was Mark Bambery (23) who finished even and Drew Kaempkes (14) was the runner up with -1.

Those who qualified in this round for the Par Shield final were Richard Clark, Brett Mansfield and David Douthwaite.

They will join Keith Atwell, Brian Worcester, Drew Kaempkes, Ross Ansell, Adam Littlejohn, Ray Jones, Mark Bambery and Paul Martin in the final. The final will be held on Saturday, November 22 not the 15th as scheduled.

This change is because the first round of the FoodWorks Murrindindi Masters is being played at Alexandra on November 15.

The ladies played a stableford and found high scoring challenging but Mim Page (24) played well to finish with 31 points. The runner up was Gail Leigh (11) with 29 points. The nearest the pins were won by Mark Bambery, Drew Kaempkes and Gail Leigh who won the golden shot. During the presentation members welcomed back Ken Whittingham who is returning to golf after some medical care.

While there are few golfing events at the club at this time of year there is a lot of planning for spring and summer golf.
