THE Rotary Club of Alexandra successfully dug up the time capsule, buried in the year 2000 in Rotary Park, on Wednesday, September 10.

The two barrels were taken to the Woodies (Alexandra Community Shed Inc / Eildon & District Woodworkers Guild Inc) to be opened, and fortunately, all was found to be in good order. There was no damage to the items held within.

In 2000, nearly 300 people put a letter into the time capsule, leaving messages to people in the future.

On Sunday, October 5, Alexandra Market Day at Rotary Park, Rotary will display the messages from the time capsule near the stage behind the Alexandra Information Centre, the envelopes ready for collection.
