Trevor Evans appointed new controller of Alexandra SES

THE Alexandra State Emergency Service (SES) Unit has officially welcomed Trevor Evans as its new Unit Controller, taking over from long-standing leader Peter Weeks.

Trevor brings with him over 12 years of SES experience and more than two decades of service with the CFA, where he served as both a strike team leader and crew leader.

His SES operational experience includes responding to numerous road crash rescues, requests for storm assistance and both the 2019 and 2022 flooding events.

Originally from Balmoral SES in the Western District, Trevor joined Alexandra SES in 2016 and became Deputy Controller in November 2024.

He now steps into the top role following Peter Weeks, who held the position for an impressive 11 years.

Peter, one of Victoria’s SES most dedicated volunteers, has been a member of the Alexandra Unit since its early days as the Civil Defence Service more than 50 years ago.

He was recently awarded the prestigious Emergency Services Medal in recognition of his service.
