Truck Show moved to September

THE Alexandra Truck, Ute and Rod Show has been moved from its traditional home on the June long weekend, due to uncertainty around the COVID-19 restrictions.

Organiser Andrew Embling advised that the show has been moved to September 11 and 12. The main event will be on September 12, with the memorial on September 11.

“Everything will be the same,” Andrew said.

They chose the weekend of September 11 and 12 as October is often very busy with events, and on the November long weekend there are already plenty of people in the area.

“We tried to look after the economy, the area and the shops, so if we go on another date altogether, it’s helping to fill those accommodation houses, helping our shops, and all that sort of thing,” he said.

“We just hope that by then, COVID-19 will be a bit better.

“Our main focus is on supporting the local community by having it on a different date and bringing people back in. The shops do get a great injection on that long weekend in June.”

In 2022, they are very likely to return to the June long weekend.
