THE Yea Bowls Club held their annual Fours Tournament last Saturday.

Despite the chill in the air, bright sunshine prevailed throughout the day and the green and grounds were in immaculate condition creating an enjoyable atmosphere for all those who attended.

FoodWorks Yea sponsored the prize money of $1800 which was very much appreciated.

Sixteen teams participated from various places all over Victoria including two teams from Avenel, Bennettswood, Nagambie, Wallan, Yarra Junction and Yea and one team each from Broadford, Kilmore, Strathfield-Saye and Yarrawonga.

It was an all day event with players arriving early in the day, to enjoy morning tea, before heading out to the green, playing two games consisting of 10ends each, before stopping for lunch.

After a delicious lunch of quiches with salad and slices, competitors then headed back to the green to play the third game of the day.

The competition was close with only three teams winning every game.

Kilmore and Yarra Junction both had scores of 51 but Kilmore were the winners with a shot difference of 33 for Kilmore, and 18 for Yarra Junction, placing them second.

The third was Yarrawonga with a total score of 49.

The winner of the best last game was a team from….
